Future Makers Program – Free 3D Printing Education for Malaysian Schools
A collaboration between Harimau3D and Flashforge to nurture a generation capable of creating problem-solving products.
What is the Future Makers Programme?
Developing a generation that creates problem-solving products, not just 3D printer users
The Future Makers Programme is a FREE* educational initiative that brings 3D printing technology into the classroom. The program is specifically designed for primary schools (Year 4-6) and secondary schools (Form 1-3).
Most 3D printing programmes stop at "how to print." We go further.
The main goal of this program is not just to teach students how to print 3D objects, but to train them to think like product developers – identifying problems, designing solutions, and creating useful products.
Three Core Skills:
Basic 3D Printing: Students learn to print 3D objects using the Flashforge ADX5 printer and Orca Flashforge Slicer software.
Reverse Engineering: Students learn to analyse existing products – how they are built, how they work – to improve them or create their own version.
Assembly: Students learn that real products consist of multiple parts assembled together, not just a single part.
From Design to Entrepreneurship:
When students can design their own products that solve problems, they realise that:
Their designs are unique – no one else has the same
Their products can be used by others
Their products have value and can be sold
This is the foundation of an entrepreneurial mindset – seeing problems as opportunities, and designs as valuable products.
What Do We Provide?
We provide all equipment, materials, and modules completely free of charge throughout the programme. Schools only need to offer a suitable space and assign dedicated teachers to facilitate the sessions.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Common questions about this program.
Q1: Is this program really free?
Yes. Filament, modules, and teacher training – all free. Printers and Laptops are provided for a period of time, and need to be returned in a good condition. Schools only need to provide space.
Q2: How long does this program run?
2 or 3 months of equipment trial. Schools need to pick either 4 or 8 modules (1 hour per module, 1 module per week) conducted during RBT class time or suitable time.
Q3: What happens if the printer breaks?
Normal wear and tear (clogged nozzle, fan failure, calibration) is covered by us. Any damages resulting from negligence or theft will be the responsibility of the school.
Q4: Can the school purchase printers after the program ends?
Yes.
Q5: What will students take home?
Each student will take home several products they created: name keychain, magnetic name tag, etc.
Q6: Do teachers need to be skilled in 3D printing before the program?
Not at all. We provide a 1-day Train the Trainer session before the programme starts.
